Welcome to the Cities and Towns area dedicated to providing you important information on organising your UGD events!

Advertise your City/Town!

Take part to all of the benefits of Urban Green Days by letting us know if you are organising events focusing on environmental issues in your city or town during Urban Green Days and upcoming months or organised an activity in 2004. The UGD site is a great tool to let others know, including the European Commission, local governments across the EU25 and beyond learn about your programmes and progress.

Publish your events, at no charge! Simply complete the online form on the  Enter an Activity page.

Case Study award!

All Urban Green Days participants were invited to submit their environmental awareness-raising work to be considered for the Urban Green Days 2005 ICLEI Case Study award. The winning entry was the Porto Region, Portugal, for their project Futuro Sustentável - with Murcia, Spain, and Roeselare, Belgium, both receiving special commendations.

Share your Materials!

Another great promotion tool is the Share Materials page, a rich resource of leaflets, postcards, brochures, posters, press releases, etc. that could be adapted for different uses.  Visit the page if you would like to make your materials available to others or if you would like to make use of the documents.

Support for you!

To support you in planning your event, we have developed "The ABC of Urban Green Days" - an easy-to-read guide on why and how to organise UGD activities. The guide contains examples of UGD events and instructions that should be followed.

To help you to better publicise your event, the European Commission together with ICLEI will make available a set of logos, design and other ready- to-print materials for your use in the Resource Center page.

A network of peers composed of National Partners and Promoters from the EU25 are available to answer inquiries and provide support for all participating cities and towns.  Their information is listed in the National Partners page.

More than 120 municipalities from the Basque Country region,Spain, have already participated in Urban Green Days 2005-Aste Berdea 2005!
